Bangladesh evaluating import tariffs on US products: Shafiqul Alam

Bangladesh is assessing its tariffs on imports from the United States (US), Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam stated on Thursday.  

In a Facebook post this morning, Alam mentioned that the National Board of Revenue is actively exploring options to streamline tariffs efficiently, emphasizing the importance of addressing the issue promptly.  

He highlighted the strong ties between Bangladesh and the US, noting that the US remains Bangladesh’s largest export market.  

Alam further stated that the interim government has been collaborating with the US since the Trump administration to strengthen trade and investment relations.  

"Our ongoing engagement with the US government is expected to contribute to resolving the tariff issue," he added.
