No Information Yet on Bangladeshi Casualties in Nepal Floods: Ambassador

Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Nepal, Md Shafiqur Rahman, said on Thursday that the embassy had not yet received any information about Bangladeshi nationals dying in the floods and landslides that have struck the Himalayan country.

“We are looking into the matter,” the ambassador said.

The devastating floods have claimed at least 162 lives, while hundreds of people remain missing, including foreign nationals. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy.

The government has conveyed sympathy to the families of those who died and prayed for the safe recovery of those missing and the speedy treatment of the injured.

Bangladesh has also expressed its readiness to extend all possible assistance to Nepal in its rescue and relief operations.
