Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has described Bangladesh as one of the Kingdom’s priority countries, underscoring the need to deepen economic cooperation between the two nations.

He highlighted growing interest among Saudi companies in Bangladesh and expressed the Kingdom’s desire to further expand investment and business ties.

Faisal made the remarks when Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir met him on the sidelines of the 23rd OIC Extraordinary Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Jeddah on Thursday.

During the meeting, Humaiun handed over a letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to taking the partnership to a new level.

Humaiun said several high-level visits between the two countries since the BNP-led government took office have opened up fresh opportunities for broader cooperation across various sectors. He also mentioned planned high-level visits in the coming days.

The state minister invited Faisal to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time.

Faisal also praised the significant contribution of Bangladeshi expatriates to Saudi Arabia’s development.

Saudi Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Waleed Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, Bangladesh’s permanent representative to the OIC and senior officials from both countries attended the meeting.
