CA To Leave For Rome Tomorrow To Join WFF Event

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will depart for Rome, Italy’s capital, tomorrow to participate in a flagship event of the World Food Forum (WFF).

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Chief Adviser and his entourage will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at around 11:30 am, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam told BSS.

According to the itinerary, Prof. Yunus will deliver a speech as a guest of honor during the main session of the WFF.

He is also scheduled to hold meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and leaders of several international organizations. These discussions will focus on global challenges, including food security, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development.

The WFF, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, serves as a platform for policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs worldwide to exchange ideas on the future of food systems.

This year’s event is being held at the FAO Headquarters in Rome from 10 to 17 October.

Prof. Yunus’s visit is seen as a notable demonstration of Bangladesh’s active diplomatic engagement on the global stage.

He is scheduled to return home on 15 October.
