Bangladesh Bank Website Remains Offline for Third Straight Day

The Bangladesh Bank website has remained inaccessible for the third consecutive day as a precautionary measure following a global cybersecurity alert.

However, the disruption has not affected connectivity between the central bank and commercial banks, and their regular operations continue uninterrupted.

The central bank took its website offline on Thursday afternoon after receiving the alert. Officials from its information technology department are monitoring potential security threats and working to ensure the website is adequately protected.

Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan said the website would remain offline until its security could be fully ensured. He added that connectivity between the central bank and commercial banks remained normal.

No specific timeline has been announced for restoring the website.

As of 8:00am on Saturday, the website remained inaccessible, with visitors greeted by a maintenance-related message.
