NCP Launches Rally at Baitul Mukarram’s South Gate

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has launched its protest rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram, demanding the prosecution of the Awami League for alleged mass killings during the July uprising and calling for a ban on the party's political activities.

Organised by the NCP’s Dhaka metropolitan unit, the rally began around 3pm, in line with the scheduled time. Party leaders and supporters began gathering at the site shortly after Jumma (Friday) prayers, with central leaders expected to speak at the event.

Ahead of the rally, NCP Convener Nahid Islam urged Dhaka residents to participate through a video message.

Since April 1, NCP activists have held torch processions across various parts of the capital to press their demands. Central leaders have also engaged in public outreach, distributing leaflets to pedestrians and local shopkeepers in recent days.
