High Court issues rule on recognising Abu Sayed and Mugda martyrs as national heroes
The Cabinet Secretary, Law Secretary, and other relevant authorities have been directed to submit their responses to the rule within four weeks.

The High Court (HC) has issued a rule questioning why Abu Sayed, Mir Mugdha, Wasim, and other martyrs of the July-August mass uprising should not be officially recognised as national heroes.
The rule was issued on Monday (14 July) by a High Court bench headed by Justice Fahmida Kader.
The court also sought an explanation as to why an accurate and credible list of the movement’s martyrs should not be compiled and published in an official gazette.
Additionally, the court asked why Dr Yunus, Chief Adviser to the interim government, should not be declared the national reformer of the new Bangladesh.
The Cabinet Secretary, Law Secretary, and other relevant authorities have been directed to respond to the rule within four weeks.
Advocate Mohammad Ali Jinnah stood for the petitioners, while Assistant Attorney General Ikramul Kabir represented the state.
