Dinesh Trivedi urges stronger Dhaka–Delhi ties and greater shared prosperity

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi has called for continued efforts to deepen the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and India, highlighting strong people-to-people connections as the “true beating heart” of the bilateral relationship.

Speaking at an event at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Saturday to mark India’s 80th Independence Day, Trivedi urged both countries to work together for greater shared prosperity.

He said the relationship between the two nations is rooted in their shared history of the liberation struggle and strengthened by mutual respect and partnership.

Trivedi noted that Bangladesh and India are steadily expanding cooperation across key areas, including trade, connectivity, security and healthcare, while stressing the importance of nurturing their close and enduring ties.
