Devastating floods near Nepal’s border with China have killed at least 675 people, the Himalayan country’s disaster management authority said on Saturday.

Chinese state media earlier reported seven deaths in Tibet following Wednesday’s disaster, bringing the combined death toll to 682.

The number of people reported missing in Nepal remained unchanged at 2,426 after rising sharply earlier Saturday. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the missing include 517 foreign nationals and 933 workers employed in hydropower projects along the river that was struck by the devastating torrent.

The list also includes 45 Nepali Army personnel, 40 police officers, and 19 immigration and customs officials.

Meanwhile, Indian authorities said they had recovered seven bodies from rivers flowing down from Nepal, believed to be victims of the floods. However, those deaths have not been included in Nepal’s official toll.
