The BNP-led government says it has begun making a visible impact on public life and society by launching and implementing 200 initiatives and projects within its first 100 days in office.

According to the government, these efforts have created a sense of optimism and positive change across the country.

The information was revealed in an e-book published this morning by the Prime Minister’s Office, highlighting the government’s key achievements, activities of different ministries, and major initiatives undertaken so far.

The e-book, released by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, will be updated regularly over time.

It states that the first 100 days of the Tarique Rahman-led government, formed after the 13th National Parliament elections, focused primarily on setting policy directions, restructuring administration, and restoring public confidence.

Despite challenges such as economic pressure, global instability, the energy crisis, employment constraints, and long-standing institutional weaknesses, the government says it has quickly introduced a range of policy-driven and people-focused measures.

According to the publication, priority has been given to social and economic support programmes directly affecting ordinary citizens, alongside digital and structural reforms in the administrative and judicial sectors and long-term economic and infrastructure planning.

Among the widely discussed initiatives are the Family Card, Farmer’s Card, agricultural loan waivers, Sports Card, E-Health Card, Digital Land Service, E-Bail Bond system, canal re-excavation projects, financial allowances for imams, muezzins and other religious leaders, renewable energy programmes, and new initiatives for education and youth development.

The e-book also highlights several personal and administrative decisions by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, including limiting state protocol, reducing government spending, directing quick solutions to local-level problems, and maintaining direct engagement with ordinary people. These steps, it says, have added a distinct dimension to the government’s political message.

At the same time, the publication acknowledges that major challenges remain, including controlling prices, ensuring energy security, boosting investment, expanding employment, and carrying out long-term reforms. Nevertheless, it claims the government has demonstrated an active, quick decision-making, and people-oriented administration during its first 100 days.

While many of the initiatives are still in the early stages of implementation, the government says it has reaffirmed its commitment to building a more technology-driven, accountable, and service-oriented state.

According to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, election pledges are often viewed as political rhetoric, but leadership is ultimately judged by how effectively those promises are translated into action. In Bangladesh’s current political landscape, the election commitments of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, along with his direct instructions for swift implementation, have become a major topic of national discussion.

The publication notes that since taking office on 17 February, the government has faced multiple challenges, including global economic pressures, a foreign exchange reserve crisis, stagnant investment, unemployment, and administrative inefficiencies.

Still, it says the first 100 days have shown faster policymaking, signs of stability in economic management, improved administrative discipline, and positive indications of recovery in investment and employment.

The e-book further claims that this is the first time in Bangladesh that a government has begun implementing election promises nationwide immediately after assuming office. According to the publication, the administration believes that working for the welfare of underprivileged people is the foremost responsibility of elected representatives.
