Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Moncho, will be flown to Singapore in an air ambulance today, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said on Sunday night.

Hadi will be accompanied by his brother, Omar Bin Hadi, during the journey, Dr Abdul Ahad, a neurosurgeon at Dhaka Medical College Hospital who was part of the team that performed his initial surgery, told the Daily Sun.

The decision was taken following the directive of Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus at a teleconference attended by Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on health affairs Prof Md Sayedur Rahman, Evercare Hospital’s Dr Zafar, and Hadi’s brother. Over the past two days, the government contacted several hospitals in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia regarding Hadi’s treatment, according to the Press Wing.

Prof Sayedur Rahman informed the chief adviser that Hadi’s condition is currently stable and unchanged.

The government has completed all preparations, including arranging an air ambulance, a medical team and other travel-related logistics, to send Hadi to Singapore on Monday afternoon for advanced treatment. Arrangements have also been finalised for his care at the Accident and Emergency Department of Singapore General Hospital.

All treatment-related expenses will be borne by the state, and the chief adviser has instructed the relevant authorities to keep the medical process under close and constant monitoring, the Press Wing said.

Hadi is also a leader of the July Uprising and a prospective independent candidate for the upcoming national election from Dhaka-8.
