Four More Political Parties Submit Feedback on Key Reform Proposals

Four additional political parties have submitted their feedback to the National Consensus Commission regarding crucial reform proposals recommended by various reform commissions.

With these latest submissions, a total of 11 out of 38 political parties have now provided their feedback to the commission. The most recent responses came from Rastrosongskar Andolan, Bangladesh Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Bangladesh Labour Party, and Khelafat Majlish, as confirmed by Prof. Ali Riaz, vice-president of the National Consensus Commission.

"Amid the weekend, four more parties have submitted their feedback," Prof. Riaz stated. Earlier, by March 13, seven political parties had already submitted their responses, while 16 parties have requested additional time to do so. Meanwhile, 11 political parties have yet to contact the commission regarding their feedback.

The reform proposals under review originate from the Constitutional Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission, Electoral System Reform Commission, Judicial Reform Commission, and Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission. These proposals were compiled into spreadsheets and sent to 38 political parties, inviting them to share their input.

The National Consensus Commission, led by Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, officially began its operations on February 15 and has since been actively engaging with political parties to gather their perspectives on the proposed reforms.
