One agreement and five memorandums of understanding set for signing

Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain has begun talks with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar at a Dhaka hotel.
The discussions are expected to conclude with the signing of one bilateral agreement and five memorandums of understanding (MoUs). The agreement will enable visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and official passports between the two countries.
The MoUs will cover: the formation of a joint working group to boost bilateral trade, cultural exchange initiatives, cooperation between the foreign service academies, collaboration between the state news agencies, and institutional cooperation between the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies and the Islamabad Policy Research Institute.
Representing Bangladesh in the talks are National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, alongside Touhid Hossain, according to sources.
Later in the day, Ishaq Dar is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus.
Earlier in the morning, he met with Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin and senior economic policymakers of Bangladesh to discuss trade, investment, and broader economic cooperation. The Bangladesh side included central bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur, NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan, and BIDA Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun.
