Xi Jinping Proposes Bangladesh–Myanmar–China Economic Corridor
Chinese President Xi Jinping has proposed the development of an economic corridor connecting Bangladesh, Myanmar and China to strengthen regional connectivity, Prime Minister's Adviser Mahdi Amin said on Friday.
Xi made the proposal during his bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday morning, Mahdi Amin told a press conference at noon.
He said the two leaders held detailed discussions on regional connectivity and ways to enhance cooperation through improved transport and infrastructure links.
According to the prime minister's adviser, the proposed economic corridor would unlock Bangladesh's economic potential, boost trade and strengthen multimodal transportation networks across the region.
