Biman has cancelled flights on six Middle Eastern routes until March 8.

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East and growing security concerns in regional airspace have significantly disrupted the flight schedule of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. In response, the state-owned carrier has announced the cancellation of all flights on six major Middle Eastern routes until March 8.

Earlier, flights on these routes had been suspended from March 3 to March 5, but the suspension has now been extended amid continuing uncertainty.

The decision was communicated to travel agencies by Biman on Friday afternoon, asking them to inform passengers about the updated situation. The cancelled routes include flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dammam, Doha, and Kuwait City.

The airline said passengers will be notified about revised schedules once the situation improves and flights resume.

According to aviation sources, several countries in the Middle East—including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan—temporarily closed their airspace from the afternoon of February 28 amid escalating tensions.

The development has directly affected operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, disrupting international flight schedules. Data show that a total of 245 flights operated by different airlines from Dhaka had been cancelled as of Friday due to the ongoing conflict.

Biman authorities said the uncertainty is likely to persist until tensions in regional airspace ease and normal operations resume. Passengers have been advised to stay in touch with the airline’s call centre or relevant offices for updated information about their flights.
