Four killed in clash over dominance in Narail

At least four people were killed in a clash between two rival groups in Narail’s Sadar upazila early Monday over local dominance.

The incident took place in Borokula village, police said.

The deceased were identified as Khalil, 60; Tahajjat, 30; Osi, 30; and Ferdous, 40.

According to police officials, all four were residents of the same locality, though further details about their backgrounds were not immediately available.

Police said the violence erupted as the two groups engaged in a confrontation to assert supremacy in the area. Three men were killed on the spot, while another suffered critical injuries and was taken to Narail Sadar Hospital, where he later died during treatment.

Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Oli Mia said additional police forces have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order, and legal action is underway.
