An air ambulance will be brought to Dhaka once it receives clearance from the medical board.
BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Enamul Haque Chowdhury today said the air ambulance will land in Dhaka only after the medical board gives its final approval.
“Qatar’s Royal Ambulance will come to Bangladesh once Madam’s medical board reaches a decision. They are prepared accordingly,” he told reporters.
Enamul Haque has been coordinating with Qatari authorities on behalf of the BNP regarding the arrangements.
He added that the air ambulance will transport Begum Khaleda Zia to London for advanced treatment as soon as the medical board issues its decision, noting that “all necessary preparations have been made by the Qatari authorities.”
Clarifying reports about an ambulance from Germany, he said, “Yes, there is an ambulance from Germany—but it is being arranged by the Qatari authorities, not us.”
Khaleda Zia was admitted to the hospital on November 23 after experiencing breathing difficulties caused by a lung infection, which later developed into pneumonia. She also suffers from several chronic conditions, including kidney and liver complications, arthritis, and diabetes, making her treatment particularly challenging, as addressing one problem can aggravate another.
