Diplomats from 27 European countries, stationed in Dhaka and New Delhi, are set to meet Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus soon to express their support for his interim government and strengthen economic cooperation with Bangladesh. "This is the first time 27 EU ambassadors have gathered to engage with the government," Prof Yunus stated.

He explained that the purpose of the meeting is to demonstrate the EU's backing and enhance high-level collaboration in the economic sector. In his televised address to the nation on Sunday evening, he outlined that 20 ambassadors are based in New Delhi and seven in Dhaka.

The European ambassadors from New Delhi will travel to Dhaka in the coming days to join the seven ambassadors already based there for the meeting with Prof Yunus.

Several ambassadors who have met Prof Yunus in Dhaka have already reaffirmed the commitment of their respective governments. They are now working on a fresh framework to support the interim government.

Prof Yunus mentioned that ambassadors from countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Turkey, Russia, Finland, Singapore, and Libya have already met with him and assured him of greater trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation.
