Delhi should facilitate Hasina's return to face trial, Yunus tells "The Hindu"

Bangladesh is determined to seek the extradition of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India, Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus told *The Hindu*. 

However, he acknowledged that he had no objection to the Awami League, her political party, participating in elections. In an exclusive interview with *The Hindu* at his residence in Dhaka, Yunus outlined his vision for relations with India and his plans for reform.

The interview was published on Monday in the online edition of the Indian daily.

Defending his government’s performance during its first 100 days, Professor Yunus dismissed concerns about rising radicalism and the safety of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh as “propaganda,” which has drawn sharp criticism from India and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
