Issues in the 47th BCS application process resolved
According to a PSC official, the process is likely to commence on Sunday.
The application process for the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination is now free of complications, as confirmed by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Previously, the process had been suspended due to delays in the official announcement regarding the reduction of the application fee. However, the issue was resolved on Wednesday when the government issued a notification lowering the fee to Tk 200.
PSC spokesperson SM Matiur Rahman stated, “The Commission will discuss the matter and decide on accepting applications.” He added, “If a decision is made on Thursday, the application process is expected to start at 10 am on Sunday.”
The PSC had initially issued a notification on November 28 to recruit 3,487 candidates for cadre positions and 201 for non-cadre posts under the 47th BCS. Applications were originally scheduled to be submitted online from December 10 to December 31. However, the process was suspended on Monday due to "unavoidable circumstances."
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Public Administration amended the Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Qualifications, and Examination for Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2014. The application fee was reduced from Tk 700 to Tk 200, and for disadvantaged groups, it was lowered from Tk 100 to Tk 50.
Other changes include an increase in the maximum age limit for applicants from 30 to 32 years and a reduction in the oral examination score from 200 to 100.
