Bashar asked to decide on BCB chief selector position within two weeks

Former Bangladesh captain and current national selection panel member Habibul Bashar has been approached by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to consider taking over as the country’s next chief selector, with the contract of incumbent Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu set to expire at the end of February, BCB sources confirmed.

Sources said Bashar has sought two weeks to consider the proposal before giving his final decision. The former captain is currently serving as the BCB’s in-charge of the Game Development Department.

Lipu, meanwhile, is understood to be preparing to step down from the role once his tenure concludes.
