Health Minister pays surprise visit to Singair Upazila Health Complex

Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain made a surprise visit to the Singair Upazila Health Complex and its 50-bed hospital in Manikganj on Saturday morning.

During the visit, the minister also joined the launch of a mosquito control and cleanliness campaign aimed at preventing mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever. The nationwide campaign began on Saturday.

While inspecting the health complex and hospital facilities, the minister spoke with patients and listened to their concerns. He also asked whether patients were receiving food properly and inquired about the quality of meals being served. In addition, he checked the attendance of doctors and other staff members.

The minister expressed dissatisfaction after finding that the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer and two other doctors were not present at their offices on time.

Officials said such surprise inspections at government healthcare centres will continue in the future to ensure better services.
