Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam has announced that the fuel rationing system for public transport will be withdrawn, assuring that buses and long-distance vehicles will receive adequate fuel despite the ongoing energy challenges.

The minister made the announcement on Saturday in the Gulistan area of Dhaka, saying that the current limits on fuel allocation for public transport would no longer apply.

He said that from Saturday night, rationing for long-distance and public transport services would be lifted, allowing buses to receive sufficient fuel to continue normal operations. The minister also noted that the country’s fuel supply had faced complications due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East involving Iran, Israel and the United States, which have disrupted global energy markets.
