Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a 35-year-old man on Friday afternoon for posting offensive comments about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Facebook. 

Sadullapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tajuddin Khandaker confirmed the arrest, stating: "With the support of DMP Vatara Police, the accused was detained. A police team has been dispatched to bring him back to Sadullapur. A case will be filed against him, and the area remains calm."

The incident originated on Thursday morning when the accused posted the offensive comment, igniting public outrage. By the evening, hundreds of locals had gathered near his village home, demanding his arrest. Police intervened and successfully restored order.

A local Union Parishad member revealed that the accused works at a garment factory and resides in a rented house in Vatara, Dhaka.
