US, Bangladesh Strengthen Defense Cooperation Through Pacific Angel Exercise
The United States and Bangladesh have strengthened their defense and humanitarian partnership through Exercise Pacific Angel 25, a seven-day multilateral programme focused on humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, along with senior Bangladesh Armed Forces officials, observed the exercise on Tuesday (September 16) at Zahurul Haque Cantonment in Chattogram, according to a press release.
The exercise brings together 92 U.S. and 90 Bangladesh Air Force personnel, joined by regional partners including two Sri Lanka Air Force medical officers and members of the Oregon Air National Guard.
Throughout the programme, participants will conduct joint training in medical readiness, air safety, engineering support, and disaster management.
According to the U.S. Embassy, Pacific Angel 25 demonstrates the shared commitment of Bangladesh and the United States to defense cooperation and humanitarian preparedness, while enhancing their collective ability to respond to crises.
By simulating real-world emergencies, the initiative seeks to strengthen regional resilience, improve interoperability, and reinforce long-term security cooperation across the Indo-Pacific.
The Embassy added that the programme reflects the enduring partnership between Washington and Dhaka in advancing regional peace, stability, and disaster readiness.
