Tarique urges alertness against election-related conspiracies
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman states that Hasina's departure has created a significant opportunity for democratic forces to rebuild Bangladesh.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday called on the people to remain vigilant against conspiracies aimed at undermining national unity and disrupting the electoral process.
Speaking at the opening session of BNP's extended meeting in the capital, Tarique warned that malicious attempts were ongoing to dismantle the unity forged through struggles on the streets.
Addressing the gathering of around 3,500 leaders from across the country at the LD Hall premises of the Jatiya Sangsad, he urged farmers, workers, the general public, Alem-Ulema, Peer-Mashayekh, and all sections of society to stay alert against efforts to destabilize national unity and the election environment.
Tarique further stated that the departure of Sheikh Hasina had created a crucial opportunity for democratic forces to rebuild Bangladesh. However, he cautioned that those seeking to make the country subservient had not abandoned their conspiracies.
"A deliberate smokescreen is being created before the public using issues such as reforms and local government elections," he remarked.
Tarique presided over the meeting virtually from London and was also scheduled to address the closing session.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir delivered the welcome speech at the inaugural session, which included a screening of the documentary Prothom Bangladesh, Amar Shesh Bangladesh, produced by the event's media sub-committee. Additionally, Amra BNP Poribar published a magazine titled Aastha to mark the occasion.
Following the inauguration, a closed-door session was planned for grassroots leaders to share their perspectives.
According to BNP’s central office, 3,500 leaders from six organizational tiers, spanning grassroots to the central level, were participating in the extended meeting.
