New party of youth 'National Citizens Party', top 5 posts finalised

The new political party, National Citizens Party, initiated by the Jatiyo Nagorik Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, is set to be launched tomorrow, Friday.

Nahid Islam has been confirmed as the convenor of this youth-led party, while Akhtar Hossain has been appointed as the member secretary.

Additionally, Hasnat Abdullah has been designated as the chief organiser for the southern region, Sarjis Alam as the chief organiser for the northern region, and Nasiruddin Patwari as the chief coordinator.

These decisions were made during a joint meeting of the Jatiyo Nagorik Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, held on Thursday from noon to afternoon at the Jatiyo Nagorik Committee’s central office in Banglamotor, Dhaka.

According to meeting sources, leadership for the positions of senior joint convenor and senior joint secretary remains undecided due to multiple candidates.

The official launch event will take place tomorrow afternoon at Manik Mia Avenue, where the names of those appointed to key positions will be formally announced.
