Prime Minister says the government is focused on developing a creative and responsible workforce

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said the government is committed to building a merit-based, confident, creative, and responsible workforce.

He made the remarks on Saturday morning while attending a ceremony in the capital’s New Eskaton area, where he laid the foundation stone of the third building of the BIAM Foundation.

The prime minister said there is no alternative to developing a merit-driven, skilled, and people-oriented public administration across all state institutions to realise the vision of a developed Bangladesh.

Praising the BIAM Foundation, he noted that its progress since inception reflects the BNP government’s consistent efforts to build a competent and well-trained civil service in the interest of the country and its people. He added that, in building a modern and prosperous state, the bureaucracy must become more responsive to citizens, stressing the need for training to help officials serve as true public servants.

After laying the foundation stone, he toured the foundation’s activities and exchanged views with officials. Senior government officials, cabinet members, and distinguished guests were present at the event.
