Nine JU teachers suspended over alleged role in attack on student protesters.

Nine Jahangirnagar University (JU) teachers have been temporarily suspended over allegations of involvement in a police and Chhatra League-led attack on student protesters during the anti-discrimination movement.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan confirmed the decision following a syndicate meeting that concluded at 3:00 am on Monday.
The suspended teachers include:
- Mohammad Mostafa Firoz – Former Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education)
- Professor Alamgir Kabir – Former Proctor
- ASM Firoz Ul Hasan – Associate Professor, Department of Government and Politics
- Professor Bashir Ahmed – Former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences
- Professor Esrafil Ahmed – Former Provost, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall
- Mehedi Iqbal – Associate Professor, Department of Geography and Environment
- Professor Hosne Ara – Department of History
- Nazmul Hasan Talukder – Former Provost, Rabindranath Tagore Hall
- Professor Mohammad Tajuddin Sikder – Department of Public Health and Informatics
Additionally, the pension benefits of former Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Nurul Alam and Registrar Abu Hasan, both retired, have been revoked as they are also accused in the attack.
