Government employees may face dismissal or forced retirement for participating in movements
The government now has the authority to dismiss or forcibly retire officials who obstruct the duties of their colleagues.

Government employees may now face demotion, dismissal, or compulsory retirement for participating in protests or movements, as per the newly issued Public Service (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.
The ordinance comes in the wake of recent protests by public servants opposing reform measures introduced by the interim government following the political transition on 5 August last year.
Issued on Wednesday and signed by Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division Secretary Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury, the ordinance empowers the government to take action against officials who disrupt the duties of their colleagues or violate service rules.
