Govt Publishes Names of Jet Crash Victims, Confirms 30 Dead

The government has released the names of those killed and injured in Monday’s Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in the capital’s Uttara area.

According to an official statement from the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser, the names of 22 of the 30 deceased and 57 injured have been made public. Among the 30 fatalities, the identities of seven individuals remain unknown.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed that, as of 3:30 PM today, 30 people have died and 55 are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in Dhaka.

The identified deceased include:
Tanvir (14), Afnan Faiyaz (14), Mahrin (46), Bappy (9), Masuka (37), AB Shamim (14), Shayan Yusuf (14), Arikson (13), Ariyan (13), Nazia (13), Nafi (9), Rojoni Islam (37), Md Samiul Karim (9), Fatema Akter (9), Mehnaz Afarin Humayra (9), Sariya Akter (13), Nusrat Jahan Anika (10), Saad Salahuddin (9), Sayma Akter (9), Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam, Junayet (9), and Omayer Nur Ashiq (11).

So far, 22 bodies have been handed over to their families. Six are at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) morgue, and one at Lubana General Hospital. DNA tests are ongoing to identify the remaining victims.

Of the deceased, 11 died at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, 15 at CMH, and one at United Hospital.

At the Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, 45 of the 57 injured are undergoing treatment, including several children and school staff. Nine are in critical condition, 13 are on complete bed rest (CBR), and 23 are classified as moderate.

Notable patients include:

• ICU patients: Mahtab (14), Masuma (32), Mahiya (15), Ayan (14), Jarif (12), Mahfuza Khatun (45), Navid Nawaz (12), Saymon (18)

• Burn ICU: Akib (12), Taskir Rahman (15), Jannatul Mawa (10), Takrim Haque (16)

• Teachers: Nishi (28), Ashraful Islam (37), Sumaiya Lorin (30), Anowar Hossain (37)

At CMH, 11 injured include military personnel and civilians:

• MWO Ahosan (51), SNK Shariar Sajib (24), Kamruzzaman (27), Tasin Ahmed (23), Atik (22), and others

Meherun Nessa (14) is being treated at Shaheed Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital.

A medical team from Singapore General Hospital is assisting local doctors in treating the severely injured.

The tragedy occurred Monday afternoon when a BAF fighter jet crashed into the school premises due to a reported mechanical failure, resulting in a high number of casualties, mostly students.
