One more child dies of burn injuries, Milestone jet crash toll rises to 30: DGHS
Another child with severe burn injuries died at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) this afternoon, pushing the death toll from the Milestone School and College jet crash in Uttara to 30.
Twelve-year-old Mahtab succumbed to his injuries at the ICU around 1:50 pm, said Resident Surgeon Dr. Shawon Bin Rahma, adding that the child had suffered burns on 85 percent of his body.
According to the latest update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) at 3:30 pm, 55 others are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in the capital.
Mahtab, a seventh-grade student of Milestone School, was the son of Minhazur Rahman Bhuiyan from Debidwar Thana in Cumilla, his cousin Rakib Hossain said.
With Mahtab's death, the number of fatalities at NIBPS has reached 12.
