Five members of the army were injured in an incident at Kakrail, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has reported that a violent clash broke out between activists of two political parties in Dhaka’s Kakrail area on Saturday night, causing significant unrest.
According to the ISPR, the incident began around 8:00 pm and left several people injured. Police initially attempted to bring the situation under control, but as the violence escalated and some officers were attacked, they sought assistance from the army.
Despite repeated calls from law enforcement to maintain calm, obey the law, and resolve disputes peacefully, a section of activists disregarded the warnings, resorted to mob violence, and attacked police personnel. By around 9:00 pm, they staged a torch procession, hurled bricks, and attempted to set buildings on fire, disrupting public movement in nearby areas including Bijoynagar and Nayapaltan.
The ISPR said the army made every effort to avoid the use of force but was compelled to intervene. Five army personnel were injured while assisting in restoring order.
Reaffirming the government’s zero-tolerance stance on mob violence, the ISPR stated that the army remains prepared to act decisively to ensure public safety, peace, and law and order.
