Hindu students from various academic years filed the complaint.

A Fact-Finding Committee has been established to investigate complaints filed by Hindu students from various academic years against a Dhaka University student for allegedly making 'obscene' and 'offensive' remarks about different aspects of Hinduism on social media.
The complaint was submitted to the Vice-Chancellor of DU on Thursday.
The accused, Md Abu Sayem, is a student from the 2019-2020 academic year in the Department of Bangla.
According to the complaints, he has repeatedly made 'derogatory' comments about the Hindu religion, causing distress among the Hindu community at the university and across Bangladesh.
Dr. Shantu Barua, Assistant Proctor, has been appointed as the convener of the Fact-Finding Committee.
The committee also includes Dr. Md Rafiqul Islam, Assistant Proctor; Debashis Pal, Jagannath Hall Provost; Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, Salimullah Muslim Hall Provost; and Mostak Ahmed, Additional Director of the ICT Cell, DU.
The committee is tasked with investigating the allegations and submitting its findings and recommendations to the Vice-Chancellor.
Dr. Shantu Barua confirmed the formation of the committee to the Dhaka Tribune. He mentioned that while he had been informed about the committee earlier, he had yet to contact the other members due to iftar time.
"We will convene and establish a roadmap for the investigation," he added.
