Chief Adviser To Address UNGA Session Today

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to address the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York today.
As per the schedule, the session will open at 9 a.m. local time, with the Chief Adviser speaking as the 10th speaker.
In his address, Professor Yunus is expected to highlight the interim government’s reform measures, the aspirations of the July 2024 mass uprising, the commitment to holding free and fair elections in February 2026, the trial of the July massacre, and the Rohingya crisis.
At an earlier briefing, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said Professor Yunus would present to the world the reforms undertaken by the interim government over the past 14 months and the progress in Bangladesh’s economic recovery.
He added that the Chief Adviser would also emphasize the government’s initiatives for Bangladesh’s democratic transition.
“The key message is that a fundamental election will be held by February 15 next year. It will be free, fair, peaceful, credible, and celebratory,” Alam said.
