A total of 379,924 postal ballots cast by expatriates have arrived in Bangladesh
Additionally, 444,952 expatriate voters have submitted their ballots at post offices or postal departments.
A total of 379,924 postal ballots sent by expatriate voters registered through the “Postal Vote BD” app have so far reached Bangladesh for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election and referendum.
Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the OCV-SDI project for expatriate voter registration, told BSS today that the ballots were received under the ongoing postal voting process for overseas voters.
As of 9:30am today, 766,862 ballots had been dispatched to expatriates registered through the app. Of these, 526,008 voters have received their ballots, while 480,416 have already cast their votes.
Additionally, 444,952 expatriate voters have submitted their ballots to post offices or postal departments in their respective countries. Among them, 107,168 ballots have so far reached returning officers.
Alongside overseas voting, the Election Commission (EC) has also begun sending postal ballots to voters residing within the country under the ICPV system. So far, 662,191 ballots have been mailed to registered voters inside Bangladesh.
According to the latest EC data, 260,447 domestic voters have received their ballots. Of these, 211,122 have cast their votes, and 168,519 have submitted their ballots to post offices or mailboxes. Returning officers have so far received 27,367 ballots.
Salim Ahmad Khan further said that 1,533,684 voters at home and abroad have registered through the app to cast their votes by postal ballot in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum 2026.
