Iranian media has released rare footage of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei

Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency on Saturday released a video on Telegram showing Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

In the footage, Mojtaba Khamenei is seen surrounded by several people and appears to be speaking with those around him. Mehr did not disclose when or where the video was recorded, nor did it identify the individuals accompanying him.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched joint strikes on Tehran and other Iranian cities, killing then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders and civilians.

Iran retaliated with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting US and Israeli bases and assets across the region.

Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Ali Khamenei, was chosen by Iran’s Assembly of Experts as the country’s new Supreme Leader in early March.
