The High Court's ruling on the 15th Amendment is scheduled for December 17
The High Court has scheduled December 17 for its verdict on the rule concerning the validity of the 15th Amendment to the Constitution, which abolished the caretaker government system.
A bench of the High Court, consisting of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury, set the date for the ruling.
During the proceedings, Attorney General Mohammad Asaduzzaman and Deputy Attorney General Mohammad Asad Uddin represented the state, as reported by UNB.
Senior lawyer Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan presented arguments on behalf of the petitioner, Badiul Alam, a representative of Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik.
The BNP was represented by senior lawyers such as Zainul Abedin, Barrister Badaruddin Badal, Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal, and Advocate Farzana Sharmin Putul.
Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir and Barrister Ehsan Siddique represented Jamaat-e-Islami.
The rule was issued earlier to examine the legality of the 15th Amendment and the abolition of the caretaker government system. BNP Secretary-General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary-General Mia Golam Parwar participated in the proceedings as parties in favor.
