Dr. Yunus to meet with 28 EU ambassadors on Monday

A delegation of 28 European Union (EU) envoys is scheduled to meet the interim government’s chief adviser, Dr. Mohammad Yunus, on Monday. 

The meeting will bring together ambassadors from 27 EU member states, including 20 non-resident ambassadors, along with the head of the EU mission in Dhaka. This marks the first joint meeting of its kind between the EU representatives and the head of government. The announcement was made by the foreign ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, during the ministry’s weekly briefing on Thursday.

According to Rafiqul Alam, the meeting on 9 December is expected to focus on strengthening ties between Bangladesh and the EU. Key topics on the agenda include a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, exploring new areas of cooperation, discussing GSP Plus trade benefits in the post-LDC graduation era, addressing climate change, ensuring the swift repatriation of Rohingyas, and reaffirming mutual commitments towards a sustainable future.
