Zelensky appoints a new Chief of General Staff for the army
Anatoliy Bargylevych has been succeeded by Andriy Gnatov, who has been assigned the responsibility of enhancing management efficiency.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has replaced the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, as per a decree issued on Sunday, amid ongoing challenges faced by Kyiv's frontline troops.
According to an official statement, Anatoliy Bargylevych has been succeeded by Andriy Gnatov, who has been assigned the task of enhancing management efficiency.
Zelensky described Gnatov as "a combat-experienced leader," emphasizing his role in integrating battlefield experience into operational planning for both defensive and offensive strategies. "Everything our brigades have learned from the war must be fully implemented at the planning level," he added.
As the Ukrainian military continues to reorganize its army corps for improved coordination, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov stated on Facebook that efforts are underway to systematically transform the Armed Forces to boost combat effectiveness. This includes restructuring command structures and implementing standardized procedures.
Gnatov brings over 27 years of military experience to his new role, while Bargylevych has been appointed as the Chief Inspector of the Defence Ministry.
Meanwhile, in Donetsk, the focal point of intense battles, Russian forces—despite suffering significant losses—have been making gradual advances for over a year.
