US President Donald Trump announced that American forces had launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday, declaring that Tehran "must now agree to end this war." His statement came after days of speculation over whether Washington would join Israel’s ongoing bombing campaign against Iran. In the aftermath of the US strikes, airlines continued to avoid large portions of Middle Eastern airspace, according to flight tracking service FlightRadar24. Commercial flights have been rerouting to bypass Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, and Israeli airspace, instead opting for alternative routes over the Caspian Sea or through Egypt and Saudi Arabia, despite the added fuel costs, longer flight times, and increased crew expenses. FlightRadar24 noted on social media that traffic patterns remained largely unchanged since new airspace restrictions were imposed last week following the recent surge in missile exchanges.
