The Chinese Embassy has cautioned about irregularities in applications for medical visas.
The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has issued a notice on medical treatment visa applications, warning applicants about errors and irregularities by some travel agencies that could lead to delays or rejection.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the embassy said several medical visa applications have recently been returned due to mistakes made by travel agencies while completing online application forms, as well as the submission of forged invitation letters. These lapses have caused financial losses for applicants, it added.
To safeguard applicants’ legitimate rights and promptly detect non-compliance, the embassy said it has updated the online application system, making the “Travel Agency Guarantee Letter” a mandatory document. Applications submitted without this letter will be returned.
The embassy urged applicants to closely monitor the agencies handling their visa applications and ensure that all required documents are submitted strictly in accordance with the guidelines to avoid processing delays.
It also advised applicants who do not receive visas within the expected timeframe to immediately follow up with the relevant travel agencies. Applicants were further cautioned against being misled by false or exaggerated claims by agencies or individuals, including overstating the complexity of visa procedures or arbitrarily increasing fees.
The embassy warned that if a travel agency fails to provide required information, submits incorrect details, uses forged invitation letters, or does not process online applications on time—thereby harming applicants’ rights—it may temporarily or permanently suspend acceptance of visa applications from that agency.
