The Chief Advisor departs for London this evening for a four-day official visit.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will depart this evening for London on a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
According to Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, an Emirates Airlines flight carrying Professor Yunus and his delegation will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for London at around 7:30 pm today.
At a briefing on June 4, 2025, acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique announced that the Chief Adviser will have an audience with His Majesty King Charles III and hold bilateral discussions with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The visit will also include meetings with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, senior ministers, political leaders, and key figures from policy and business sectors.
In a notable honor recognizing his global contributions, Professor Yunus has been nominated by King Charles III for the ‘King Charles III Harmony Award 2025’ in recognition of his lifelong dedication to promoting peace, sustainability, and harmony between people and the environment. The award will be presented at a formal ceremony at St James’s Palace in London on June 12.
Established in 1990 by The King’s Foundation, a UK-based charity founded by the then Prince of Wales, this prestigious annual award celebrates individuals with outstanding achievements in sustainable development and humanitarian efforts.
During his visit, Professor Yunus is also scheduled to hold courtesy meetings with the Secretaries-General of the Commonwealth and the International Maritime Organization (IMO), reflecting Bangladesh’s broader international engagements.
As part of his public diplomacy initiatives, he will deliver a special address at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, on June 11.
The Chief Adviser is expected to return to Bangladesh on June 14.
