Iran launches attacks on US bases across neighbouring states following strikes on Tehran oil sites.

Iranian missiles and drones struck US bases and facilities in neighbouring countries early on Sunday, triggering powerful explosions in Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE, including Dubai’s busy Marina district.

It was not immediately clear whether the blasts were caused by air defence interceptions or by direct impacts. The attacks came hours after President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a rare address apologising to Arab Gulf nations.

In his remarks, Pezeshkian warned that US bases in Arab countries could become potential targets if they were used to launch attacks against Iran.

However, Iranian conservative leaders sharply criticised the president’s stance as “weak.” The first Israeli strikes on Tehran’s oil facilities during the war further emboldened them, prompting swift and forceful attacks on US installations across the region.

Western analysts fear that the Israeli strikes could push Iran to target oil facilities in Arab states, potentially deepening and widening the conflict.
