Iran has stated that it is not pursuing nuclear weapons but will firmly uphold its "legitimate rights."

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Tuesday that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons but will continue to defend its "legitimate rights" as a ceasefire with Israel takes effect.

In a phone conversation with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, Pezeshkian said, "We expect you to convey to the Americans that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks only to assert its legitimate rights," according to the official IRNA news agency. He also emphasized that Iran is "prepared to resolve the issues... through dialogue at the negotiating table."
