Baloch Liberation Army Seizes Surab City in Pakistan, Sets Fire to Government Buildings and Military Vehicles
Taking responsibility for the attack and takeover, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) stated in an official release on Friday that its fighters had gained full control of Surab city. In addition to capturing the city, they also vandalized and set fire to government buildings and vehicles.

In a major escalation, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that its fighters have taken full control of Surab, a city in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The takeover reportedly followed intense clashes with security forces. Footage from the scene shows BLA fighters seizing Pakistan Army vehicles and weapons, as well as taking control of police stations, banks, and other government buildings.
Government property was reportedly vandalized and set ablaze. Local reports indicate that senior police officer Hidayat Ullah died of suffocation after being locked in a room by the militants. In an official statement on Friday, the BLA said its fighters had captured key installations, including the Levies station, police station, and a bank.
The group also claimed that its forces are conducting snap checks and patrolling along the Quetta-Karachi and Surab-Gidar highways. A more detailed statement is expected soon. Surab, with an estimated population of 35,000 to 45,000 as of 2023, is a strategically located city in Balochistan.
