A local BNP leader was injured in a suspected bomb attack in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Saturday night.

The incident occurred around 11:00 pm at Mirzapur Mor, leaving 35-year-old Enam Khan, general secretary of Ichapura Union BNP, wounded.

Enam later confirmed the attack himself, according to a report by UNB.

Recalling the event, he said, “I was having tea with some party leaders and activists at Mirzapur Mor when attackers arrived on motorcycles and threw three bombs at us before fleeing.

“I sustained injuries on different parts of my hand. The loud explosions caused panic among locals. We later informed the police, who came to inspect the scene.”

Sub-Inspector Monir Hossain of Bijoynagar Police Station stated, “When we arrived at the location, no one was present. We gathered witness statements and will review CCTV footage from the area.”

He added that while no official complaint had been filed yet, legal action would be taken if one was submitted.
