Yunus tells Al Jazeera: "Four years should be the maximum duration before an election"
Chief Adviser to the interim government, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, stated that the interim government's tenure will not exceed four years.

In an interview with Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus stated that while the exact duration of the interim government’s tenure has not been finalized, it will definitely be less than four years. "It could be shorter," he clarified. "Ultimately, it depends on what the people and political parties want. If they say, 'Forget about the reforms, just hold the election,' we will proceed accordingly."
When questioned about whether staying in power for four years would equate to serving a full electoral term, Yunus responded, "I never said I would remain for four years. That’s just the maximum possible term. Our aim is to hold elections as soon as possible."
Addressing speculation about his political ambitions, Yunus firmly stated, "I am not a politician. I am focused on the role I currently have, and I enjoy what I am doing."
