The Chief Adviser anticipates receiving reports from six major reform commissions by January.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has commended Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus for the progress achieved in revitalizing the economy and initiating critical reforms in politics, elections, and other areas.
During their phone conversation on Monday evening, Prof. Yunus informed Sullivan that he expects reports from six major reform commissions by January. Following this, a consensus-building process will commence to prepare the nation for reforms and elections.
The discussion, which focused on mutual interests, was confirmed by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Tuesday morning. Sullivan reiterated US support for the Prof. Yunus-led interim government and its efforts to ensure a “prosperous, stable, and democratic” Bangladesh.
Sullivan also praised Prof. Yunus’s leadership over the past four and a half months since he assumed the role of chief adviser on August 8. Additionally, he expressed gratitude for Yunus’s announcement of potential election dates and affirmed continued US assistance for the country’s democratic process.
The call also included discussions about Bangladesh’s overall development progress. Prof. Yunus expressed his appreciation for the United States’ generous support in addressing inherited challenges and recalled his meetings with President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his visit to New York in September.
The Chief Adviser thanked the US for its crucial support during this pivotal period for Bangladesh.
