Journalist Mahmudur Rahman granted bail
Mahmudur Rahman, acting editor of the Amar Desh newspaper, has been granted bail in a case involving an alleged conspiracy to kidnap and murder Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The bail order was issued on Thursday by Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge As Shams Jaglu. Lawyer Syed Joynul Abedin Mezbaha filed the bail appeal, though Mahmudur Rahman was not present during the proceedings.
